| | Excellent |
Good physical health; rarely ill. Two stays in hospital as a child for tonsil removal and meningitis. I suffer from scoliosis. [A condition that affects the spines of children, teenagers, and adults alike] Mental health: bipolar, cannabis dependence. [Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness] | Excellent health. Two short stays in hospital. One for a pneumothorax which occurred immediately after I had finished refereeing a football match (1992, aged 45). - This is a common condition in late teens/early twenties. The second was for a week's course of intravenous multiple antibiotic therapy to prevent septicaemia occurring when a minor Staphylococcal infection began tracking up my arm. I have smoked from the age of twelve, but only drink socially and only briefly experimented with drugs as a student in the sixties. No addictions

Intelligent, I am a people-person, active, upbeat, and positive | Introverted, unstable, faithful, solitary, generous, idealistic, intelligent, trustworthy, secretive, good listener, eccentric, creative/artistic, intolerant, thrifty | Very intelligent, competitive, reliable and trustworthy, open and honest (to the point of tactlessness!), intolerant of fools and liars (which includes politicians and politics!). Generous and faithful. Calm and easygoing, but remain apart from the crowd - others can see this as cool and aloof - but I am a good team member and try never to let anyone down. Excellent organisational skills and always tidy. Will obstinately stick with a problem or question until it is solved. A considerate, sensual, and affectionate lover and consider my partner's needs above my own. Will encourage open communication about everything within a relationship. Non-aggressive, not argumentative, not a worrier, not forgetful, not jealous

Science, history, religion and Egypt |
Art: Klimt, Dali, surrealism. Books: heart-warming novels, supernatural themes. Magazines: New Scientist, National Geographic. Music: chill-out world music, tabla drums, anything with unusual harmonies | Art: impressionism, but it depends on the actual picture. Books: mainly reference books and those exploring a particular subject like philosophy, psychology, aromatherapy, pleasure, happiness etc. No time to waste on fiction, but "The Diceman" was a remarkable concept. Magazines: only "First Down". Music: The Beatles, Bach, Vivaldi, Leonard Cohen, Mike Oldfield, Mercury Rev and Donovan. I hate heavy metal, rap, hip-hop and most of the modern "skipping" style droning which can only barely be defined as music. Movies: best film: "Das Boot" (full length German version). Moving films or good British/Australian/French comedy or early black an whites like "Casablanca". Anything non-Hollywood! The American idea of screenplay, plot and dialogue is pathetic - give Hollywood a good plot idea and they will destroy it - "300" being a perfect example - excellent visual effects and cinematography .... and there it ends!
